You can now receive and pay bills for either Golden Gate Disposal or Sunset Scavenger online through Recology's E-Bill Pay program. The City’s Department of Public Works also provides a schedule of the latest Refuse Collection and Disposal Rates online, if you would like more information.
 
For a “Bulky Item Pick-up,”; call Sunset Scavenger at (415) 330-1300 or Golden Gate Disposal at (415) 626-4000. Customers are allowed two free pickups per year, with a maximum of five bulky items each. Limited amounts of recyclables may be added, but you may not include any trash or recyclables that would fit inside standard bins or any items that could be donated to charity. See Recology for program details. Follow all guidelines, as rules are strictly enforced and violators could be cited.

Finally, before throwing anything away, think a moment about where your trash is going. The item may be leaving your house or car, but in one form or another it will remain in the environment. Before contributing to landfill, first consider whether your refuse — whether it's an armchair or a paper bag — might be reused. If not, recycle whenever possible, then discard.
