Stray Animals

If you’ve lost your pet, see the Animal Care and Control’s Web site for helpful tips. You can also call their Lost Pet Hotline at (415) LOST PET (567-8738) which provides a partial listing of impounded animals and is updated twice a day. Make sure to also visit Pet Harbor to view records and/or pictures of strays (as well as adoptable animals) residing in local shelters.

A loose animal in San Francisco is an animal at risk. Take precautions to ensure your own pet can be returned to you if lost and fulfill your responsibility in reporting any strays you find.
