Undergrounding Utility Lines

The City does not have a plan for the development of future undergrounding districts after completion of the current project. However, the DPW and PG&E may decide to undertake additional work in the future. If you are interested in having your own block undergrounded and would like to know more about future undergrounding districts as information becomes available, you can call Friends of Undergrounding at (415) 554-6167. Alternatively, you may mail your contact information to: Friends of Undergrounding, 875 Stevenson Street, Room 460, San Francisco, CA 94103.

See the Utility Undergrounding Program Page of the DPW site and scroll down to find a map of streets affected by the current project. Also, read the DPW’s “Active District FAQs” for further details including answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
