Visit STPP online for information on funding for bicycle projects in California and guidelines for starting a "Safe Routes to School" program in your area. You can also write to them at STPP Northern California, 26 O'Farrell Street, Suite 400, SF, CA 94108.

  • The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC), part of the University of North Carolina's Highway Safety Research Center, "seeks to improve the quality of life in communities through the increase of safe walking and bicycling as means of transportation and physical activity." PBIC provides a host of great resources for bicycle advocates through its www.bicyclinginfo.org site.

  • Transportation for a Livable City is a local non-profit with a mission "to create a balanced transportation system and promote complementary land use that supports a safer, healthier and more accessible San Francisco."  TLC's Web site offers details on their various campaigns and publications.
